I was born and raised in MA and after learning to ski at 9 years old at Blue Hills Ski Area in Canton, MA, it quickly became a favorite pastime of mine and still is 20+ years later. I’m a software engineer by day but love anything active and outdoorsy in my free time, whether it be crossfit, running, hiking or coaching youth sports. Through high school and college I spent nearly every free day I had during winter months on snow between racing for my high school team at local ski areas and instructing skiing from high school into my early 20s. I was a PSIA certified ski instructor for 7 years and worked in the ski industry for 11 years before hanging up the teaching boots.
Now I try to ski (and occasionally snowboard) as much as I can throughout the season and went skiing out west in Colorado for the first time last winter on my honeymoon, which was quite fitting since I met my husband while we were both working at a ski area.
