Rail Jam
A live rail jam on the show floor, open to anyone who thinks they’re up to it. Skiers and snowboarders, men’s and women’s classes, Saturday, November 14 at Mohegan Sun. Register by Wednesday, November 11 for a shot at an Ikon Pass or equivalent.
What it is
Rails, boxes and big tricks, live in the middle of the expo. Riders take repeated runs during a set session, so there’s a steady flow of action, and they build on their tricks and cheer each other on. Experienced judges score every session, and awards are presented shortly after.
How to watch
The Rail Jam is an invitation-only competition, so riders don’t enter on the day. Everyone else is welcome to watch. Grab a spot close to the action and get loud.
Who can take part?
Anyone who thinks they’re up to the task. You have to register beforehand, because there’s no entry on the day. Places are capped at 30 men and 30 women across the ski and snowboard classes, so get in early. Registration closes on Wednesday, November 11.
thE SETUP
The course is purpose-built and covered in dry slope carpet, so you can ski and ride without snow. There’s a flat rail and a flat box, set up one at a time with a single drop-in.
