
Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Burakowski (she/her/hers) is a Research Associate Professor in the Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans and Space at the University of New Hampshire. Burakowski’s research focuses on winter climate change in the northeastern United States, including what changes we’ve seen in the past, what we can expect for the future, and the impacts on ecosystems and society. Dr. Burakowski learned to ski and ride in the late 1900s and started splitboarding in 2013. Liz has been working with Protect Our Winters since 2010 and has served on the POW Science Alliance since 2016.
