I’ve been skiing since I was three years old, and snowboarding since my 20’s. I am 55 years old now, and since 2016 I am creator and president of Beer Run Ski Club based on Long Island, NY. Previously, I was president of Suffolk Skidaddlers Ski Club based on Long Island for 10 years, and a board member for a total of 16 years. Six years ago, I began to lose vision and shortly after was considered legally blind. I continue to snowboard every season at least 30 to 40 days with the help of my wife as a guide, as well as the use of Cardo communications system. Beer Run Ski Club is a member of the Metropolitan NY Ski Council, and I consider myself very knowledgeable in the ski industry. I also encourage members of my club (and anyone else who will listen!) to participate and be active in the winter. I want to encourage anyone with a disability to not be fearful to get out on the snow and not let any physical limitations get in the way of them enjoying snow sports.
