Jessie Diggins has been named to the TIME 100 list, recognising the most influential figures in sport today. It’s a huge moment, and one that reflects far more than results on the snow.
Diggins has always stood for something bigger than racing. While she’s built an incredible career as one of the top cross-country skiers in the world, her impact goes well beyond competition.
She’s been open about mental health and eating disorders, helped push the conversation around climate change, and worked to get more kids onto the snow. Through her work with organisations like The Emily Program, Protect Our Winters and Share Winter Foundation, she’s made a real difference to both the sport and the community around it.
At the same time, she’s never lost what makes her unique. The energy, the positivity, the glitter at the start line. It’s a reminder that you don’t have to fit a mould to compete at the highest level. You can smile and still be one of the toughest athletes out there.
