Snowbound Expo Solidifies new era for the Winter Sports Industry with Move to Mohegan Sun

Celebrating 44 years as the ultimate epicenter for winter sports, the iconic Snowbound Expo has officially announced its permanent relocation to the Earth Expo & Convention Center at Mohegan Sun, marking a historic new chapter for the East Coast’s largest and most influential seasonal kick-off event. Taking place November 14–15, this  move from Boston establishes a long-term home for USA Winter Sports, bringing together over 23,000 passionate enthusiasts, elite athletes, and industry leaders in the same space to launch the 2026–27 winter season.

As the premier stage for what is on the cutting edge in winter sports, the expo offers brands an unrivaled platform to captivate audiences at just the right time ahead of the winter season. Exhibitors at the November event will have the unique opportunity to debut new product lines, drive direct sales, generate high-impact social content, and forge critical retail and resort partnerships just ahead of the winter rush.

Exhibitors will gain access to a massive marketing campaign boasting a digital and PR reach of over three million impressions. The relocation to Mohegan Sun’s state-of-the-art Earth Expo facility will also feature high-traffic attractions designed to keep consumers engaged.

Snowbound Expo at Mohegan Sun will become the ultimate destination for mountain lifestyle enthusiasts,, featuring world-class winter sports icons, the newest gear, and iconic athlete appearances on The Inspiration Stage. Guest speakers include Olympic champion cross-country Skier Jessie Diggins, pioneering freeride snowboarder and filmmaker Travis Rice, freeride snowboarder and advocate for women, mothers, and survivors Kimmy Fasani, legendary East Coast freeskier Tom Wallisch, and deaf mountaineers, educators and storytellers Scott & Shayna, with more to be confirmed.

The move to Mohegan Sun is designed to expand the event’s audience reach and solidify its position as the premier winter lifestyle expo on the East Coast.

This strategic relocation optimizes the experience for partners by focusing on high-impact engagement and efficient operations. A higher investment in the content schedule introduces major headliners and vibrant evening activations, including après-fest winter parties, to keep the crowd engaged. Additionally, the event has been compacted from three days to two, allowing exhibition teams to maximize their sales focus while minimizing resource requirements and time away from the office.

The transition also brings substantial operational benefits and strong market alignment. Mohegan Sun offers the flexibility needed for immersive, cost-effective brand activations and custom exhibit builds, all supported by robust marketing capabilities from the venue itself. Industry momentum is already building, with major retailers and key brands committing to the expo, alongside an anticipated influx of regional and destination ski resorts. Across 5.5 million square-feet in total, Mohegan Sun is also home to more than 75 restaurants, bars, lounges and retail offerings; the award-winning 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena; two luxurious hotel towers; the world-class Mandara Spa and two unique casinos, a poker room and the Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook, home to the largest continuous video wall on the East Coast.

This enthusiasm matches visitor data, which shows that ten percent of attendees already travel from Connecticut, and over a quarter of the existing audience specifically preferred Mohegan Sun as the future home of the expo.

Current committed partners include Subaru of New England, Ikon Pass, Colorado Ski Shop, Killington, Sugarbush, Chic Chac, Inn Seasons Resorts, Jackson Hole, and Big Snow American Dream.

Furthermore, the roster expands for the 2026 season with the official signing of Powder Ridge Mountain Resort, Mount Southington Ski Area, East Coast Lady Boarders, Appalachian Mountain Club, and Jay Peak Resort.
