With anticipation building for the Snowbound Expo, we sat down with Stephen Morgan, the Event Director, to discuss what’s coming back to the BCEC this November 14-16, 2025 and why this event has always been the kick-off to the winter sports season. He says it’s the place to find new ski and snowboard gear at amazing prices, find inspiration and have a wicked day out with the community, before the resorts open for the season.
Q1: Tell us—why is Snowbound Expo a key date in everyone’s calendar?
Stephen Morgan: Snowbound Expo isn’t just an event that’s been organized for 40 years — it’s where the snow season starts. It’s where you discover your next resort, find your new favorite brand, upgrade your setup and snag deals on gear, and connect with people who love winter as much as you do.
Whether you’re an advanced skier, a snowboarder, beginner, you love the apres or just someone who can’t wait for the first snowfall, this is your space to learn, gear up, and get inspired.
- 250+ top snow brands under one roof
- 21,000+ passionate attendees
- Access to resorts from across North America
- Hands-on gear demos, expert advice, and exclusive show offers
- Appearances by Olympians, pro athletes, and leading voices in the winter space
- Interactive sessions on skiing, snowboarding, backcountry, travel, gear tech, and more
Q2: What makes Snowbound Expo special?
Stephen: If you grew up skiing or riding in New England, chances are you’ve been to the Boston Ski & Snowboard Expo — or at least heard the stories. For more than 30 years, it has been the unofficial kickoff to winter, where snow lovers from all over the region come to gear up, plan trips, and get hyped for the season ahead.
Held every November, the expo brings together resorts, gear brands, retailers, athletes, and thousands of passionate skiers and snowboarders — all under one roof. There are deals, giveaways, new gear to try, and plenty of mountain energy to go around.
More than just an expo, it’s a New England tradition — a place where families return year after year, friends reunite, and the stoke for snow starts to build.
While the event has evolved into what is now Snowbound Expo, the spirit of the original lives on – we’ve just changed the name and introduced more athletes and live entertainment.
Q3: Who is Snowbound Expo designed for?
Stephen: Our events are for the general public so we’re a consumer event – accessible for all. It’s for anyone passionate about winter sports. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner, advanced skier or athlete, there’s something for you. It’s a great platform for brands to reach a wider audience of families, couples, individuals who are looking to purchase new gear and find inspiration for their next adventure.
Q4: What kind of events and experiences can visitors expect in November?
Stephen: There will be a huge retail zone with up to 70% off gear, plus over 250 brands to shop in the expo, so it’s the place to get new boots, skis, bindings, apparel, accessories – anything! The weekend is also packed with entertainment; there are trampoline displays with boards and skis flying through the air, DJ sets, live gear demos and reviews, plus fireside chats from inspirational speakers and Olympic athletes. For families, there is plenty to do and see including a NEW winter arcade feature, an Alpine bar for lunch and hanging out, kid’s trails and stickers. We are also looking at a Friday night film screening and a new snowboard zone. There is always a lot of swag and competitions to enter with a chance to win big prizes. The speaker line-up is always a huge draw for visitors including fireside chats with skiing legends and riders and there is an opportunity for visitors to meet and greet the VIP guests. Big names will be announced closer to the time of the event!

Q5: Is this just a Boston-based event, or is there a broader reach?
Stephen: While the main expo is held at Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, the expo has national and even international reach. We welcome international vendors and resorts to showcase their products, and the events will draw visitors from the whole of New England. Resorts exhibit from Quebec, Chile and Europe!
Q6: How can individuals and businesses get involved now?
Stephen: Contact us early to learn more about booth location or sponsorship – [email protected] We’re also looking for volunteers and community leaders who want to contribute to programming. This is a growing community, and there’s room for all.
