BLISTER (blisterreview.com) is an outdoor media company founded by Jonathan Ellsworth, and headquartered in Crested Butte, CO. In effect, BLISTER serves as the ‘Consumer Reports’ of the outdoor sports industry, testing products extensively, then publishing honest and extremely in-depth gear reviews that are trusted by skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers, runners, and other outdoor enthusiasts around the world.
In 2021, BLISTER established the world’s first Outdoor Industry Engineering program, BLISTER LABS, in partnership with CU Boulder and Western Colorado University to marry quantitative analysis to the qualitative analysis of their gear testers’ long-form reviews. The goal is to provide even better, more objective, and more helpful product information to inform purchasing decisions; create new industry standards; improve manufacturers’ product testing & development; and move the global outdoor industry forward.
