Dan Egan is a legendary skier and a true pioneer of extreme sports. Best known for appearing in thirteen Warren Miller films and skiing some of the most remote and challenging regions of the globe with his brother John, he has left an indelible mark on the sport. In 2001, Powder Magazine named him one of the most influential skiers of our time, and in 2016 he was inducted into the U.S. Skiing & Snowboarding Hall of Fame.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the Egan brothers redefined the very meaning of extreme skiing, chronicling their adventures against the backdrop of a shifting geopolitical world. Today, Dan continues to inspire as a ski ambassador, coach, and guide, sharing his passion on the slopes of Big Sky, Montana, Valle Nevado, Chile, and Val d’Isère, France. He is proudly sponsored by Leki, Big Sky, Elan, and Alps & Meters.
Egan is also the co-author of Thirty Years in a White Haze, an award-winning book written with Eric Wilbur that recounts his global adventures and the evolution of extreme skiing. Beyond the mountains, he is a sought-after speaker, consultant, and filmmaker. Through his company, Degan Media, Inc., he represents major international resorts, FIS World Cups, and leading sporting events around the world.
